The Internal VXA Tape Subsystem is part of our InternalDR™ family. It delivers high-performance and high reliability at cost-effective pricing. These single tape subsystems meet the basic backup needs for small to medium range servers.

The Internal VXA Tape Subsystem is designed for a wide variety of servers. Native connectivity uses LVD (low voltage differential) SCSI connection.

VXA Technology

VXA tape technology has evolved through two generations and provides outstanding capacity and performance with a highly stable technology roadmap. VXA utilize packet technology, providing improved data reliability.

Native cartridge capacities for VXA-2 are 80GB (160GB compressed) with speeds of 21GB/hr (43GB/hr compressed). A 2-to-1 compression ratio is achieved with Adaptive Lossless Data Compression (ALDC) technology.

Capacity, Performance, Cost Leader - GST’s internal VXA drives compare favorably to LTO-1, DAT, and SLR technology for about the same price. GST’s VXA internal drive is nearly half the cost of LTO-2 with comparable speed and capacity.
