This tape drive feature for the 7212 Express Model provides an excellent migration path for IBM System p and IBM System i server users from the 4-mm tape drive. It can also be a cost effective solution for save, restore, and archiving functions. The tape drive is designed to provide a media physical capacity of up to 80 GB (160 GB with 2:1 compression) physical data storage capacity per cartridge. It is designed to achieve a sustained data rate of up to 12 MB per second.
