(#5738) - PCI-X Disk Ctlr-1.5GB w/IOP
Provides a high-performance PCI-X Ultra320 SCSI disk controller with a maximum compressed write cache of 1.5GB and read cache of 1.6GB. #5738 will support i5/OS mirroring protection for internal disk drives using its write cache but will not start RAID-5 or RAID-6 unless an auxiliary write cache IOA is attached. (When an auxiliary write cache IOA is attached, the pair of cards is denoted by feature code #5582.) Concurrent battery maintenance is supported. The controller also supports internal tape units, CD-ROM units, and DVD units. The #5738 has four internal Ultra320 SCSI buses.
#5738 and #5777 are physically the same adapter card but have different feature numbers to denote to IBM configurator tools whether or not an IOP is required. #5738 indicates an IOP is used.
