The Model 550 160GB External Digital Linear Tape Drive writes data to tape using an advanced laser-guided recording technology. The tape drive provides a media capacity of up to 160 GB (320 GB with 2:1 compression) data storage per cartridge. The 7205 Model 550 tape drive has a sustained data transfer rate of up to 32.0 MB per second with compression, which provides for tape storage backup at the rate of 115 GB per hour.
